Exceptional Learners: Introduction to Special Education
Product Description
Examining the teaching of exceptional learners, this text considers such topics as the full inclusion and collaboration of exceptional learners, strategies for teaching them, and dispelling myths regarding disabled pupils.

I really like the way this book is presented. It provides a really concise yet complete overview of the disabilities most commonly encountered. I also like the pages in the back of each chapter that give teaching strategies in respect to the disability discussed. This is a great book for general educators looking for some information on disabilities and for those beginning to learn about special education. This book gives a great foundation for all the other special education courses that follow it. Great book!

The edition should speak for itself. As a special educator and in training to become a teacher educator, I have been using this book as a resource/reference for 8 years now and it keeps getting better: )

Yes, this was a text required for my class, but I find myself reading it just for the knowledge it contains, assigned or not. Well written, and quite comprehensive. A very complex topic addressed intelligently.

I was amazed at the price of this book, which was considerably cheaper than the UNLV bookstore. However, there is a reason. It does not come with the accompanying paperback that the UNLV bookstore version did. Luckily my class did not require reading in the paperback (it had vignettes) but if I had needed it I would have been in trouble.
